A Beautiful Saturday

Since Alex is up in Canada all week and Addison and I need to recover from being sick, we stayed around Mexico this weekend. The weather was so beautiful ... perfect for some swinging. Addison loves to swing!!!

Getting ready to head to the park.
Addison was all smiles and giggles....feet kicking like crazy!

Little Big Girl Jeans

Because of this beautiful, fall-like weather we have been having, I decided Addison needed to wear some jeans on Friday. I pulled the ones out of her draw and discovered that 6-9 month won't go over her little chunky thighs. So, I pulled out the ones I bought for her to wear this fall -- 12 month size. She looked so cute in her little "big girl" jeans. (I have no idea why I can't get some of these to rotate!)

"Mom, I'm busy. Leave me alone"

"Ok fine. I will look at the camera, but I'm not going to smile."

All Sorts of New Things

Addison has been full of changes lately. She has started crawling and pulling up. She is getting her top middle teeth, which hasn't been fun today, and is a lot more vocal. She waves, claps, and raises her arms "so big." She also has learned to make lots of sounds like clicking her tongue, strumming her lips, and "oh"-ing.

These are some shots Alex took tonight.

New Teeth! You can see her bottom two bottom teeth here. We had just one bad night cutting them. Let's hope we don't have that with the top ones coming in.

"Hi Dad."

Loves to climb. We have found her standing in her crib and are constantly battling her to keep her from trying to climb up the entertainment center.

Standing up.

Chewing, chewing.

Started crawling. She does pretty well already. She will take a couple of steps in a bear crawl and then will crawl normally. She still has to concentrate pretty hard, so she will go a little way, stop and sit herself up, take a breather, and go a little way more.

Makes all sorts of faces. She loves to try to mimic us.

Bathtime is tons of fun.

New fence. Alex, Scott, and our neighbor, Robin, have put tons of time and hard work in over the last 10 days building this picket fence around our yard and Robin's yard. It looks great! They did a fantastic job. Here are the guys with their finished project.

Here is the view from the front of our house. Hasn't Alex done a great job with the yard and flowers? There wasn't anything when we moved in.

This is looking at the shared fence and the back of Robin's house.

Last weekend Addison and I went to see my grandma, my 10-year class reunion, and Nana and Papa. She had a super long weekend, but was such a great kid. We left home on Saturday around one and drove straight to the hospital, then went from the hospital to my reunion in St. Joe, and finally to Nana and Papa's. She had to play a while with them before going to bed...even though it was after 10pm. On Sunday she crashed in the swing with Papa before we headed back to KC to Grandma's and then back to Mexico.

Grandma is doing better and continues to improve. She moved this past Friday from the hospital to a rehab wing at the Cameron Manor. Addison performed all kinds of tricks for her and brought plenty of smiles. We are hoping to get to see her again this coming weekend.

We have a tooth!!!

Addison got her first tooth last night. It didn't come easy though. She had a slight fever and was up every hour or so because it hurt so bad -- Bless her little heart. She was still a little uncomfortable today and completely worn out from being up all night. She will barely let us feel it, let alone hold her mouth open long enough to look at it (or dare take a picture).

Peek-a-Boo

Addison had a fun day Saturday playing with Daddy. She loves to sit in her little "fort" made out of her play mat. She will peek out every once in a while to see what is going on...usually with a big grin on her face.

The Last 2 Months

Sorry it has been so long since we have posted. It seems like the last couple of months have been CRAZY! I will try to be a little more diligent about posting.

As most of you probably already know, Alex, Addison, and I moved to Mexico (Missouri that is) in the end of April. Alex is a crop consultant for CPS in Perry and I am an ag lender for the Callaway Bank in Fulton. Addison started a new adventure at her daycare, The Growing Years. She seems to love it and is all smiles when she sees her classmates. I really like her teacher, Miss Tina, which helps...it was really hard to leave her after being home with her for four and a half months.

May seemed insanely busy. We spent most of the month driving back and forth between Maysville and Mexico moving our stuff. We had to downsize significantly when we moved to Mexico, so it wasn't just a matter of packing and moving, instead we had to add sorting and selling to the mix.

On the night before the movers were to come and Alex's birthday, we ended up in the emergency room with Addison. It was her first major cold, and she was having a very hard time breathing. After a breathing treatment and some tests to make sure she didn't have pnemonia or RSV, we headed home with a nebulizer and some antibiotics. Thankfully, Dad agreed to handle the movers and we went back home to Mexico.

May was also filled with a graduation, retirement, and a wedding. Allyn (Alex's sister) graduated from high school and is Mizzou bound next fall. My mom after 30 years of teaching finally retired. Her plan was to visit grandkids, but this crazy weather has kept her very busy helping dad on the farm (there have been a few visits though). Alex shot his second wedding in the end of May. He did a beautiful job.

June was no less busy than May. On June 6th, one of Alex's fraternity brothers got married. It was so fun to see everyone again and introduce Addison.

Addison also turned 6 months old this month. I can't believe how fast my tiny baby is growing up. At her 6 month check up, she weighed in at 19.5 pounds...a guess she isn't so tiny after all. She is almost crawling and has started pulling herself up. Last night she took her first bath in the big girl tub. She thought that was a lot of fun. She has started eating baby food. She is picky about texture, so we are mixing all of her fruits and veggies with cereal. It doesn't sound or look appealing to me, but she loves it. She is also learning to drink from a sippy cup and doing pretty well. Here are her six month pictures that Alex took:

At the end of June, Addison and I headed to Maysville to help finish up with planting and then the whole family met up in Branson. Alex had to work, so he didn't get to join us, but Addison and I had so much fun with Kaden, Emmy, Amy, Fritz, Stacey, Cory, Nana, and Papa. We discovered Addison loves to swim. We are definitely going to have to take her to the Mexico pool a few times during what summer we have left. Here are some pix from the vacation. Amy and Stacey also have pix on their blogspots -- links on the right.

It's been a crazy few weeks here in the 'ZOU lately. We'll try and play catch up a little later, I just wanted to post this pic of Addison with MIZZOU star point guard J.T. Tiller.

Trip to Columbia and Jeff City

The first weekend in April, Alex, Addison, and I headed to Columbia to meet up with the Gibbs Family. Ben and Sarah and Brad and Meredith (Alex's cousins) brought the kids up from Texas for a long weekend. It was so much fun to see everyone and get to spend some time together. On Sunday before we headed back home, we swung by Jeff City to see Grammy Pam.

Addison is a Healthy Eater!

Today I had to take Addison to the doctor for diaper rash. It was nothing serious, but I wanted to get it healed up before it got out of control. While we were there, she got weighed, and she is a healthy 16 pounds. My tiny baby is growing up way too fast!!!

Besides getting physically big, she is learning so fast. She puts about everything she can get her hands on in her mouth now and is just about to learn to roll from her back to her belly. She has also become a "Momma's girl." Today when the doctor held her, she studied him for a minute and then burst into tears.
