A Fun Family Weekend

This weekend all the Curtis girls were home for Maysville's Homecoming and some great family time.

Alex, Emmy, and I helped Papa work calves Friday morning, and everyone met mom at Red Barn for the "special special" lunch. Emmy was the cutist farm hand with her pink t-shirt, overalls and pony tail. She helped Aunt Kiki with the ear tags and scolded the calves when they weren't doing the right thing. She loves being with Papa and loves the "moos." Uncle Alex got in on the some of the not so fun parts of dealing with livestock.

Stacey and Cory made it into town to go to the parade with Mom, Dad, Amy, and Emmy while Alex and I headed to our doctors appointment. Everything went very well. We have new pictures of Addison that I will get uploaded tomorrow after Alex scans them in for me. She now weighs 2 lbs. 11 oz.

Friday night we all went to the football game. Alex took lots of great pictures of the game, family, and friends. Here are a couple of me, Stacey, and Emmy.

Saturday morning Mom cooked a great breakfast for everyone before Amy and Emmy left to go meet her new cousin, Gradyn Stanley, on her dad's side. Alex and Cory went out and put up a tree stand and then cut some fire wood for Cory and Stacey on Saturday afternoon. I think they were both a little sore after the firewood episode. Sunday morning they tested the stand out, but didn't have any success.

I love these weekends with my sisters and brother-in-laws home and Emmy to entertain us all. There is always lots of storytelling, laughing, and teasing.

Only 12 more weeks....

Since I learned I was pregnant, I have been subscribing to a weekly email that gives approximate sizes and milestones of the baby's development. Addison is at 28 weeks today and I just got the email. Addison is now about 15 inches long and weighs somewhere between 2 and 3 pounds. Her eyes can now open and she can blink. She is also experiencing REM (rapid eye movement) during sleep....although I am not sure she ever sleeps. She seems to be a very active little girl.

We have our next doctor's appointment on Friday and will have another sonogram. I will scan in the pictures and get those posted. The sonographer will be able to tell me exactly how long she is and how much she weighs. I also get to take the lovely glucose test for gestational diabetes....it is going to be a marathon appointment.

Welcome to the Gibbs 'Zou

Dear Friends and Family,

Alex and I wanted to create a site to post pictures and provide updates on the upcoming arrival of our baby girl, Addison Parker, as well as other events in our little 'Zou. For those who don't know, "'Zou" is a play on University of Missouri's nickname, Mizzou.

Our current family picture is somewhat dated, but Alex and I plan on taking some family pregnancy pictures before Addison arrives. We will post those and update our family picture once done.

As many of you know we just moved back to my hometown, Maysville, MO. We love being closer to family and finally feel like we are settled again. Here is a picture of the exterior of the house right before a summer storm. I will take some interior pictures and get those posted soon.

Also, because several have asked if I am starting to show, here is a picture taken on September 7th. I am definitely "showing."
