Addison's Baby Shower

On Sunday morning, Allyn, Aunt Annie, Aunt Linda, and Pam held a shower in honor of Addison at Aunt Annie's home. Pam fixed a brunch for everyone with tons of really good food! Everyone wrote down their best parenting advise for me that Pam is putting into a scrapbook, which will probably come in VERY handy! We played a couple of really fun games: toilet paper game and the "baby" game.

The toilet paper game consisted of everyone tearing off the length of toilet paper they thought it would take to go around my round belly. Everyone overshot my size (which made me feel good :-). The four people closest to the correct size were actually the only four there who had never had children: Rachel, Allyn, Sydney, and Amanda. The tie-breaker was the birthday closest to Addison's due date....Amanda won with a January birthday.

The winner of the "baby" game was the person who collected the most baby pins. Each person got a baby pin when we got there and people were allowed to take your baby pin if you said the word "baby". Holly Casteel was the winner!

In addition to the games, there was a diaper drawing. Everyone who brought a package of diapers got a raffle ticket. Peggy Markway was the winner of the diaper prize. A big thanks to everyone for bringing those!!! Alex and I are ready for Addison now.

I can't tell you how blessed I feel to has such wonderful family and friends. Addison got very spoiled on Sunday. We came home with beautiful clothes, blankets, diaper bags, bath necessities, a car seat (we can actually bring her home from the hospital now!), a great jogging stroller that I am really looking forward to using, toys, sleepers, and the list goes on. It brings tears to my eyes to know that my baby is so loved! I really enjoyed spending the morning with each of you.
